They are not to be confused with jazz-fusion bands, all of whom are noted for displaying instrumental facility and experimentation of electrical instruments. This combination of varying music styles is what gave Blood, Sweat & Tears the classification of a jazz-rock band. Their music has notable arrangements of blues, horn instrumentals, improvised jazz, pop and rock influences. From the beginning, this band has undergone through many personnel changes, which has all contributed towards the varying music styles that Blood, Sweat & Tears has been known for. Thelonious Monk and Sergei Prokofiev arrangements have also been put into what Blood, Sweat & Tears has incorporated into their music. They have recorded songs with many rock stars and folk artists such as Billie Holiday, Laura Nyro, Eric Satie, James Taylor, The Band, and The Rolling Stones. Whatever the case, I still definitely support them.Formed as a jazz-rock group in New York City in 1967, Blood, Sweat & Tears are known for their combination of brass and rock band instrumentation. I'm not sure if their change in style is due to their fame here in the U.S or if it's just me refusing to accept this change.
Oh and also Spring Day! Damn that song was a masterpiece. The last song I truly fell in love with after WINGS was Serendipity. I listened to it all the way through and by the end of it I was pretty exhausted because it was quite upbeat the whole time.
I actually didnt fall in love with any of the songs. Their album this year, however, was probably my least favorite of them all. As for the music in their most recent albums, I'd say there would be only 2 I'd really enjoy (Gogo, Pied Piper, Mic Drop) while the others just sound the same. Not because it's not as good as Blood Sweat and Tears, but because the song doesnt really appeal to me as their past comebacks, pre 2017. Their recent comebacks and albums have been a bit disappointing. And by the "best" meaning all the songs are solid and not skippable for me. The WINGS album is the best they've ever put out, in my opinion. I'll even go as far as to say that I think I would get into Kpop much much later on if I hadn't watched that mv. It's the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about BTS's music. It's creative and aesthetically pleasing. And I love that I can set up a story when I watch the MV.
In my opinion every member looked their best or at least close to best in the BST era. All of the members look really comfortable and confident. The choreography, the song, the hair, the clothes, the locations, everything fits together so well. I can never know what BTS will put out in the future but I just don't think they'll ever put out something that'll give me the feeling BST gave me when I watched it for the first time. I like their new music and I'll keep supporting them but imo Blood Sweat and Tears was something else entirely. Blood Sweat and Tears makes me feel like I'm eating a slice of chocolate cake with lemonade while sitting on a soft and expensive armchair.
